Presentation for the ‘Open Culture’ map of Liverpool

liverpool-museumwhite

Objectives

To convey the Liverpool map survey findings through a format that is cohesive, intelligible and consistent with the need to represent and connect disparate survey findings. More about our aims here

Concept

Artwork to resemble a public transport map. The piece is populated by a gallery of peephole picture frames. Peepholes are located at ‘stations’ or nodes where a viewer may look into an artistic projection depicting the associated subject and its relevance.

Layout

The map layout is Liverpool centric, with the largest central zone depicting the city center and around this, the area most people from your survey consider as ‘Liverpool’. Please see this page for detail and illustrations.

Dimensions

Work to fit the freestanding wall ( 3m wide by 3.5 m tall). Much of the 1m floorspace available in front of the wall will be taken by the interior workings of the piece.

Format

A novel approach which aspires to present the art through analogue technology.. Please click here for more detail about format.
