Parking

In surburban areas where sufficient space exists for large ground level parking lots, a dedicated transfer vehicle might meet moterists where they park so as to allow them not to wait outside the car or walk any distance.
Where land is limited a vehicle parking system is suggested to reduce the time for inter-modal transition by hoisting private cars onto a low cost parking rack as its owner boards the transfer vehicle. The pictures show a car chauffering vehicle preparing to elevate a car [parked on a supporting pallet] onto the parking frame. The driver will not need to look for a parking space. He will be a few footsteps from the transfer vehicle departure point, minimizing his delay. He should already be on a journey which he can undertake faster [and at less expense] than if he were to drive all the way.

The nature of the system is such, that it is possible to determine the whereabouts of any travelling passenger at any time. Hence the possibility to accurately predict the arrival time of a car-using passenger, and on his arrival, have his car waiting at a convenient departure point.

Bicycles

For the cyclist, an essential ingredient to the station is a facility where bicycles can be safely locked and stored in a dry and receptive environment. There are so many environmental and physical benefits to bicycle-use that this facility might be provided free of charge.

Where possible dedicated cycle ways and footpaths should service the station appropriately, to reduce conflict with major roads and to extend the local `green traffic` catchment area around the immediate vicinity of the station.
